Mechanical Design Coordinator Miami
Seeking Mechanical Design Coordinator in Miami, FL. Will coordinate pre-construction and construction processes. In pre-construction, will analyze capability for design evaluation and propose design solutions to comply with building codes and constructability using Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies; review mechanical equipment and materials submissions from contractors and other employees related to construction projects; conduct project evaluation by reviewing designs, planned installations, building structure, and goals of the client to identify possible Value Engineering regarding systems efficiency and budgeting. In construction process, will review and analyze shop drawings in 2D/3D for pre-fabrication purposes for HVAC piping and ductwork, by analyzing technical and mechanical implications of designs on the building structure; identify, evaluate, and propose solutions for unforeseen conditions relating to the mechanical elements at the project site, including storm damage, acts of God, and mechanical malfunctions; monitoring means and methods in the construction process to comply with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) in Green-certified projects. Must be proficient in use of CAD software in 2D and 3D. Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Master’s Degree in Construction Management, along with at least five (5) years of experience in design-work; experience involving the mechanical-engineering area is a must. Project management experience; Spanish and English fluency required in order to communicate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, contractors, and clients as needed; and LEED AP certification required.
