The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for a Health and Safety Manager for the Environmental Health and Safety office. The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) office promotes environmental, health, and safety compliance within the University of North Carolina at Charlotte campus community. The EHS office provides guidance at all levels of the University to ensure compliance, maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience; or Master’s degree in a physical science, biological science, environmental science/engineering, occupational safety, industrial technology or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Job Duties: The primary purpose of this position is to research, develop, implement, analyze and continuously improve the Environmental Health and Safety program. Lead and manage all health and safety compliance programs (e.g., injury prevention, hearing conservation, indoor air quality, bloodborne pathogens, industrial hygiene, personal protective equipment, respiratory protection, medical surveillance, confined space, lock out tag out, and electrical safety). Determine internal operational goals while collaborating with managers to promote regulatory compliance within their respective units. Manage EHS professionals and establish detailed operational plans to accomplish goals.
