Pediatric Anesthesiologist Job Description:
The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine, and Pain Management at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is in search of an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Anesthesiology.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Pediatric Anesthesiologists should feel comfortable performing various cases, including newborns, young children, adolescents, and adults
- Transplant experience is highly desired
- Limited skills in regional pain and the ability to anesthetize older children are helpful
- Comfortable supervising residents, CRNAs, and SRNAs
- Comfortable performing cases on their own, if required
- Participate in the department's academic activities, including teaching and mentoring trainees
- Call is expected to be 3-4 beeper calls per month (some calls may be from home)
- Possible need for evening and weekend calls
- Effort distribution may change based on department needs, candidates’ interests, and success in obtaining extramural grant funding
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MD/DO required
- S. approved residency in
- Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship
- BE/BC in Anesthesiology required
- Research experience highly desirable, not required
