Two State-Supported Research Faculty Positions
at the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center, University at Albany, SUNY

The Atmospheric Sciences Research Center (ASRC) of the University at Albany, State University of New York, seeks to hire two permanent- eligible (equivalent to tenure track) Research Faculty. These New York State supported college-year appointments allow for supplementary summer salary from external research funding. Areas of particular interest include hydrology, radar meteorology, and renewable energy (especially solar energy); however, outstanding candidates from other areas of atmospheric science will also be considered.

The successful candidates will be expected to pursue and secure funding to support a robust research program and publish their work in academic (e.g. scientific peer-reviewed) journals. We expect the position to strengthen ASRC and the University by (i) maintaining a strong externally funded research program, (ii) mentoring graduate students and postdocs, and (iii) participating, as necessary, in service to the Center and the University.

Opportunities exist for successful candidates to exploit ASRC's world class facilities and projects including the NYS Mesonet and WhitefaceMountain Field Station as well as UAlbany's nation leading AI+ initiative.
