Physical Therapist
Job Description:
Provide physical therapy services to the Northern Berkshire Early Intervention Program, providing diagnostic assessments and treatment for children, birth to three years of age; as well as related support and services to their families.
Specific Job Duties:
· Provide gross motor/physical therapy evaluations and treatment.
· Participate in team developmental evaluations and the development and implementation of IFSPs for children and their families.
· Provide therapy at home, day care or any natural environment the parent/caregiver chooses.
· Keep accurate and current records of case progress and administrative information i.e.daily billing sheet, travel form, record of contacts and all DPH forms.
· Participate in evening parent information nights, workshops, health fairs as needed.
· Provide a minimum of 70% productivity which may include assessments, group services, individual treatment and community outreach efforts.
· Flexibility to respond to program scheduling needs.
· To assess and plan programs for children in the following areas of Physical Therapy
1. Muscle tone
2. Muscle strength
3. Range of Motion
4. Movement styles (neurodevelopmental approach)
5. Gross motor development
6. Motor coordination
7. Pulmonary/respiratory status
To instruct parents in implementation of developmental activities at their level of understanding, emphasizing the understanding of principles behind activity selection, provide support and guidance for families to assist with utilization of community resources available to them. To assist the educator in planning and implementation of gross motor directed playgroups
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree from accredited program recognized by the licensing board of the state of MA.
· Current licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professions.
· Experience working with pediatric patients.
· Valid driver’s license and availability of a private vehicle
