ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL SPECIALIST
Our company is looking for someone to join our team as an Accounting & Financial Specialist for our Davie Office. Our company provides comprehensive accounting, payroll, and payroll tax services, sales & use tax services, personal & corporate tax services, and accounting training and assistance to small and medium businesses.
The specialist will manage the day-to-day record keeping of accounts, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, and be the go-to person in our company to assist clients with determining the nature and scope of their issues. Their needs will be varied, ranging from a one-time fix to a bookkeeping matter, assistance, guidance on setting up and improving their accounting systems, and assistance with budget, forecast and cash flow analysis preparation. The specialist is also responsible for assisting the Accounting Department in performing Financial Analysis, Risk Management, and Governance analysis for contributing to the successful delivery of initiatives according to measures of scope, time, cost, and quality. The specialist will have the support and guidance of our Accounting Director whenever need it, but to really excel in this position you are the type of person who wants to be in charge of your day and doesn’t need to be closely supervised. Strong preference will be given to individuals who bring Peachtree, QuickBooks expertise and an interest in leveraging emerging technologies and efficiencies.
Essential Functions:
Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping activities through Peachtree, QuickBooks and other accounting software. Review A/P and A/R reports. Prepare information for budgeting reports and forecasts. Analyze and organize financial data into useable information. Assist in month-end and year-end closing. Assist Accounting Director perform tax planning for U.S. Companies with foreign operations. Prepare, review, and analyze foreign branch monthly/annual reports. Calculate appropriate exchange rate by estimating the weighted average daily exchange rate for the tax year. Sales Tax - preparation of sales tax reports
Payroll Tax - preparation of payroll tax reports. Peachtree & QuickBooks - ability to perform monthly write-up functions. Client and internal communications via phone and e-mail. On-time delivery of client financial reporting packages. Process of accounts payables, receivable and payroll. Prepare month and/or year-end reconciling and financial statement. Assist with Peachtree & QuickBooks accounting software conversions. Ability to work independently. Assist with Peachtree & QuickBooks accounting software training. Design, and coordinate Peachtree & QuickBooks training programs that support the company objectives and are aligned with the overall strategic plan. Participate in all team meetings and other projects as assigned. Assist Accounting Director with tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Effective time management skills
- Minimum 4+ years bookkeeping, accounting, financial and/or tax experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
