Paralegal/Intake Specialist
About Us:
Legal Aid Service of Broward County, a not for profit law firm, is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a paralegal in Broward Lawyers Care the Pro Bono Unit of LAS.
The Paralegal/Intake Specialist will be responsible for conducting telephonic intake interviews, drafting client case summaries, preparing case files for pro bono attorneys, maintaining a high-volume call log, and providing backup support assistance to other Pro Bono Unit staff.
Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal must be able to work effectively in a collaborative, shared decision-making environment; be passionate about the law and advocacy; and have the skill, creativity, and drive to provide clients with the highest possible level of legal services. The ideal candidate is capable of acting with substantial degrees of independence and responsibility. Interest and/or passion for working with the low-income community required. A bachelor’s degree and/or a certificate in paralegal studies preferred. The candidate must have strong interpersonal, computer, telephone, and writing skills and be organized and detail-oriented. Salary D.O.E.
Fluent written and spoken English/Spanish required.
