Senior Associate (International Arbitration)
Join Hogan Lovells US LLP in Miami, FL to perform legal research and analysis of issues related international investment arbitration, investment treaties, international commercial arbitration and represent public and private clients in international commercial arbitration disputes before institutional and ad hoc arbitral tribunals, and in complex international trade dispute matters before government agencies in the U.S. and in civil law jurisdictions; advise clients on issues related to bilateral investment treaties and free trade agreements involving the U.S. and Latin American countries. Position requires domestic and international travel at least 20% of the time.
Minimum requirements: a U.S. law degree (JD or LLM), Florida Bar Membership, and at least 4 years of legal experience in international arbitration involving civil law jurisdictions, including a combination of experience with: (a) investor-state arbitration disputes arising under investment treaties involving Latin American countries or investors; (b) international commercial arbitration proceedings under institutional rules and ad hoc proceedings, governed under civil law; (c) policy analysis and investment protection analysis on bilateral investment treaties and free trade agreements involving Latin American countries; (d) conducting arbitration hearings, including cross-examination of witnesses and experts; and (e) representing clients in post-award litigation. Alternative work arrangements are available for this position, including a flexible hybrid work arrangement.
