Director, Student Health Services
Georgia College seeks an experienced Health Care professional to direct its Student Health Services at its campus in Milledgeville, GA. Candidates must possess an unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Georgia, a Master's degree or higher in Nursing, and 5 years of nursing responsibility; at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Previous experience in a college similar clinic setting is preferred.
Primary Purpose of Position:
Working collaboratively with the Health Services staff, the Director is responsible for providing administrative leadership for campus Health Services. The Health Service Director is responsible for developing and implementing Student Health Services goals in alignment with goals of the division of Student Affairs, giving special attention to the specific objectives of Health Services. The director provides leadership for Health Services working collaboratively with Health Service staff, Student Affairs staff, and GC Administration in the development of policies and procedures.
Key Functions and Related Job Duties:
Administration:

Supervision of all employees in the unit including administration of performance evaluations annually. Provision of on-going evaluation of staff performance, including assessment and recommendation of employee candidates for reappointment, promotion, implementation of performance based salary increases, and provision of staff development programs. Assure adherence to accepted standards of nursing practice, the Georgia Nurse Practice Act, and the State of Georgia Advanced Practice Nursing Laws. Maintain a secure, confidential, and accurate system of health records compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Fiduciary Responsibilities:

Conducts annual fiscal planning and daily budget management. Utilizes management skills to determine needs of the unit in terms of ordering medical supplies and equipment and determining other expenditures of the clinic. Is responsible for preparing a 5-Year Business Plan on an annual basis following guidance from the Budget Office. Oversees all budgetary needs and accounts associated with Health Services. Oversees the use of and approves all purchases and purchase card expenditures and assures adherence to university policies. Maintains/renews contracts necessary for clinic operations.
Program Development:
Job duties performed for the above function.
Supervise development and implementation of services/ programs that meet the needs and demands of students seeking services in Health Services. Provide oversight of program/services reviews and evaluations and implementation of modification of programs/services in order to enhance the quality of care provided and outcomes achieved.
Program Support:
Job duties performed for the above function.
Assesses, diagnoses, and prescribes appropriate medications and treatment for illness and injuries. Provides health teaching and preventative health care and render first-aid services as needed. Documents assessment and treatment appropriately, in a legally defensibly manner, utilizing Electronic Medical Records. Assists in compiling reports as needed.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve on committees and projects as assigned by the Vice President of Student Affairs. Performs other duties as directed.

Minimum Requirements:
- Proposed Minimum Experience/Education.
- Unrestricted license to practice as Registered Nurse in Georgia and a Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited school (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner) with national certification from American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
- Must have 5 years of increasing responsibility in health care delivery in nursing and at least 2 years direct supervisory /administrative responsibility over staff.
- Must have 2 years experience as a practicing Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
- Previous experience in a health services clinic or similar setting preferred.

Demonstrated ability to work collaborative with administrative team members to achieve college-wide and campus level goals, vision and mission.

Must pass random drug tests, comply with all vaccination requirements, and carry professional practice liability insurance, as per ACHA guidelines.
