Information Technology and Computing Services (ITCS) is the central agency that supports enterprise- wide computing at East Carolina University. The Enterprise Storage Team is responsible for the evaluation, implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and management of all components of Fiber attached storage, Enterprise Network Attached Storage, Fiber switches, Content Addressable Archive storage, Enterprise Tape Library, and Enterprise backup media servers. The infrastructure supports the entire campus and is a critical component in the broader ITCS services delivery.
As a Enterprise Storage Administrator, you handle these tasks:
- Manage and support the University’s Enterprise Storage Infrastructure including storage area networks, block storage arrays, and network attached storage
• Manage and support the Enterprise Backup Infrastructure
• Install, configure, test, document and operationalize infrastructure hardware and software
• Troubleshoot, resolve and document complex problems with storage infrastructure, backup infrastructure and related hardware/software
• Manage short and long-term projects of varying degrees of size and complexity
• Research, evaluate, plan, present, implement, new technologies for enhanced performance, monitoring, cost reduction, drive efficiencies, ensure supportability, availability, and/or security for the storage and backup infrastructures
• Collaborate and consult with internal and external resources offering technical expertise and recommendations
• Develop and test disaster recovery plans and strategies to provide high availability and efficient recovery processes

We are looking for a candidate with these preferred skills:
- Network attached storage, Storage Area Networks, Content Addressable Storage, Fibre channel switches and channel zoning
• Data backup and recovery solutions
• Researching, architecting, building, testing, and deploying Storage solutions
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, organizational, planning, and strong problem-solving skills
• Related certifications in the storage or networking field would be considered a plus.
