Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Hybrid Role

Pay range: $77,667 Annually

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Position Description

We are looking for a Project Management Specialist to join the Project Management team. As a key member of the Project Management team, the Project Management Specialist will report to the Director of Operations. 

The Project Management Specialist is vital for the overall success of their projects, overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion while delivering projects on time, within scope and budget. 

 

Position Key Criteria/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

 

Position Measurable Accountabilities

  • Ensure that all actions are supporting the Purpose, Vision, and Core Values of Contexture.
  • Financial planning and monitoring of projects.
  • Maximize gross profits by utilizing tools such as change order strategy and management, vendor and customer back charges, and subcontracting where appropriate.
  • Plan and create the critical path and benchmarks for each project by understanding the timing of each phase.
  • Proactively communicate with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to ensure awareness of the project’s progress.
  • Risk management - Identify and respond to potential issues throughout the life of the projects to minimize potential negative impacts including, but not limited to:
    • Unrealistic scheduling commitments
    • Poor planning design
    • Safety & regulatory requirements
    • Company financial liability
  • Ensure timeliness & accuracy of all PM responsibilities including, but not limited to:
    • Forecasts (short & long term)
    • Submittal review & re-submittals
    • RFI tracking & review
    • Change orders
    • Field measures & site coordination
    • Order submission to Procurement Department
    • Requests made to Field Operations (scheduling, warehouse, installers)
    • Billing
  • As required, present accurate and timely reports to the Director of Operations and members of the Executive team including, but not limited to:
    • Revenue, margin (GPM/GPD), and labor
    • Forecasts
    • Re-Projections
    • Change orders
    • Back charges
    • Stay current with new products and products training  

 

Position Key Technical Competencies

  • 3 years of experience working for a commercial construction company.
  • 3 years working with construction documents, and related processes in a team environment.
  • 3 years of customer service experience.
  • Microsoft Office Suite ability to manage email, calendar, meetings, and folders in an organized way according to professional standards, and by passing a Microsoft excel proficiency test.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam, Procore, PlanGrid. Must pass a basic skills assessment for each item.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting architectural blueprints/drawings.
  • Understands and can interpret the technical requirements of plans, schedules, specifications, and vendor technical documents (product data sheets).
  • Clean and safe driving record – No excessive or repeat speed violations, no suspensions, or other traffic-related convictions for past 5 years, no DUI’s
  • Must have a reliable vehicle to travel to and from jobsites.
  • Must live within 40 miles of Fort Lauderdale office (5545 SW 35th Ave Ft Lauderdale FL 33009.
