Position Summary: The School Accountant and Grant Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the school’s financial operations and securing funding through grants. This position involves overseeing budgeting, grant management, and book keeping while also identifying and applying for grants that support our school’s mission and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grant Management:

  • Research and identify grant opportunities relevant to the school’s needs and strategic goals.
  • Manage grant funds, including tracking expenditures and preparing financial reports for grantors.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to gather necessary information for grant applications.
  • Maintain a database of grant activities and deadlines.

• Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to financial operations and grants.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fund accounting, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
• Experience in grant management.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
