Intake Specialist (Data Entry Specialist)
COAST TO COAST LEGAL AID OF SOUTH FLORIDA (CCLA) is a non-profit law firm providing free civil legal services to low-income residents of Broward County; we provide the highest quality counsel and representation available to low-income residents in Broward County. We currently have an opening for a full-time Intake Specialist/Data Entry Operator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors, answer phone and direct calls to appropriate staff, and provide referrals as needed.
- Screen applicants using CCLA’s case management system for eligibility.
- Make referrals as appropriate.
- Frequent communication with clients - in person and by phone.
- Conduct client interviews.
- Utilize online intake system to set up electronic case files.
- Review, organize and maintain inventory of closed cases files.
- Research and check online intake information for accuracy and completeness.
- Data entry, including scanning case files and reviewing error reports.
- Prepare/draft correspondence.
- Provide applicants with self-help educational material, and general information, as appropriate.
- Assist at various clinics sponsored by the program.
- Conduct intake at outreach sites as assigned.
- Provide general administrative support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of Data entry experience
- 3-5 years of legal experience highly desirable.
- Commitment to promoting the mission, vision, and values of Legal Services.
- Ability to willingly accept and carry out directions from supervisor.
- Exhibit a spirit of teamwork and cooperation in completing job responsibilities.
- Have a work record which reflects dependability including availability on a prompt and regular basis.
- Ability to work with web-based applications.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of the court system.
- Must have the ability to multitask and work independently.
- Ability to type 35 wpm.
- Professional demeanor and client-oriented focus.
- Excellent organizational and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent telephone skills.
Bi-lingual (English and Spanish or English and Haitian Creole) preferred. Non-smoker. Salary D.O.E. plus benefits.
